There seems to be payment issues developing rapidly.

Netpond itself has gone through some major changes recently, and I suspect it is time to review the structure of the posting payments model. It is a good time for consolidation and growth for the forum, and I hope it will be able to continue to give new webmaster help and assistance in the future.

I will start off by saying that I consider both Meat and Aga to be my friends.
They gave me some good advice several years ago which I am still thankful for to this day.

I have no idea whats going on there other than some payments are missing and there seems to be some sort of court case looming in the balance.

I hope it all gets resolved for the best but as we all know there has been a history of serious drama from the beginning concerning that board. Hell it managed to spill over to Oprano for 90 days in its own way.

I reiterate that I will never pay users to post here and point out that in the end it does pay to post here and network with people.

I prefer the 6 posts here a day that my fans like to talk about and how this is a dead board.

In the end if your looking for advice on how to treat your girls snake bite to to post pictures of your cell phone or what ever bragging you need to do there are a few places till let you can do that at.

Every few years you an may be enticed by them for a free teeshirt or a few sips of Crystal from a dixie cup.

Rest of us are here to work.

I have no idea whats going on there other than some payments are missing and there seems to be some sort of court case looming in the balance.

The problem I am having as moderately interested third party observer (they already banned me from that board...no not for being an asshole, but pissing with someone who was fucking with business), it the secretiveness of this alleged court case. No one seems to know what it is and they are not forthcoming. They are not responding to email in a timely fashion, and it seems many are not getting paid in a timely fashion. This to me are sure signs of trouble in any business. I have seen all the signs before and very, very few rescue themselves when it gets to the point of too many meetings and avoiding your creditors. Netpond may pull it off but the odds, IMHO, are slim to none in its current state. It amazes me why people stay around on what appear to be empty promises (on the surface). Please note the ton of disclaimers in this statement that would never have existed but for the horrendous crap that Shellee Hale is suffering at the moment. A lot of thin ice in this business and a lot of folks need sharper skates.

I also think this is begs the question does old school work any more? I know these guys are your friends, G, but after all the bullshit and bluster I have heard from these two over the years, this has to be a bit humiliating even if they can pull themselves up by the bootstraps. These are folks you do not want to take business advice from in today's world. Strange how all the dick swingers seem to be "feeling the pinch".

Yeah, me too. Its interesting how they come and go after pledging to be here for the long run. 12clicksmichelle, that midwest chickee and her compatriots, and a few others. You just know they are opportunists pitching their upcoming show or failing proggys and won't last. I think it was Serge that said this was his bar and where he liked to hang out with his friends. Well he just opened a new bar and everyone is happy.

To be fair, Rhet, don't forget - there are often people here that haven't much to say. This is one of the few boards I actually *post* on. Others have those same behaviours, with their posting boards being elsewhere and lurking here (as we've seen when they come out of the woodwork).

I am sure you are right, Liz, but its all too apparent when the chicks land on here showing their tits and pitching their wares for some upcoming event. Have an opinion on everything, get away with it because they are women. They always get cut slack with this tactic. I usually get called some form of woman harraser, then they leave on schedule...promo over.

I'm sure there is a certain element of that going on on all of the boards when a broad is hired to pimp a program - I know I encountered a certain amount of that expectation when I began in the industry.

I grow weary of it. Tits pitching proggys and they all bite. Take it easy on 12clicksMichelle and Cyndalie, they are girls...fuck that she is a board whore like anyone else. I have seen her postings on other boards. Flat out whoring. Should be treated like the rest of them. Sabby survive forever flashing her tits with nothing to contribute. The list goes on. Thje consolidated a lot of stuff all to go to netpond several years ago.
That board certainly has had its history of drama.

Meat is absent due to a family illness and Aga is pretty much silent.

Sometimes things are not what they seem and I hope that is the case for these guys.

Mostly they are worse when emails and communications are ignored. That is the real concern. You ignore your creditors at your peril. It is cavalier and disrespectful and when payments are late, it only means one thing, and I do mean one thing, there is no money to cover the debt. I take that back, there is another possiblilty, they just don't feel like paying. Now, if anyone else can add another possibility, I would be pleased to hear it. But I personally have seen this shit many times, with the same reaction of panicked creditors giving the benefit of the doubt to the debtor hoping beyond hope, believing beyond belief that they can pull it out of the fire or they might be one of the lucky ones who get something for keeping their mouths shut. Its happened to me and I certainly did not keep my mouth shut as you might have guessed and I was the last one to get paid before the company tanked. But I did have two RCMP officers at my side as the boss wrote the last paycheque as I phoned the bank to hold the funds. And btw, buddy the boss went to jail...Kingston Pen no less.

Aga is the type of guy who doesn't like to air out the dirty laundry too much in public. I have heard that there are issues (legal side) that have sort of jammed them up on things. Sadly, legal stuff doesn't operate in internet time, but real time that can take a long time.

Their "pay for posts" business model was innovative at the time, but perhaps as the industry gets leaner, it isn't the best model. I liken it to programs that had all sorts of reward points / bonus things that have started to fall away as well.

That is not the point. Payment, apparently is. Better to hang out your dirty laundry and pay the money than look like you are in financial trouble, whether you are or not. But the signs seem to point to the latter. It always amazes me how much slack people will cut it they think there is any chance of payment. Enron comes to mind.
