I have been stumbling across these kind of sites for awhile and I am perplexed at what use they are. I know I am not the best in the west at seo, but these seem useless to me, but there are so many that they must have a purpose. Anyone know?

Its an attempt I think to get click thrus or indexed one.
My guess is it loads spyware or some shit.

Sorry I got distracted reading one a couple of business threads.

First one some sage advice from The Zoo on how bad adwords are and not to use them.

2nd from Just Blows Men was how 200 people working at a porn company has to be bloated.

I think you are right about the spyware. I did some googling of their key words and that is what happened. I get tons of these sent to me in google alerts. Lots of them have my key words buried in their text which is why I receive them. Stealing freeking traffic is what it appears to me. A lot of them have legit url's of companies and below all the legit company stuff, this crap appears.

That's the kind of page cloaking software creates and it's a great way to get banned on Google.

Lately every time I search for a mainstream term in Google the first 200 results are mostly bogus domains with a .cn TLD. I use Firefox so don't see the warnings but am told most of these sites will load some JS virus and redirect you to a PPC SE.

They have got MAJOR keyword placement for thousands and thousands of domains, and most seem to have 2/3 sites per server and they appear to have thousands of servers.

regardless of what others say it is NOT a cloaking page or something cloaking software creates

if it were cloaking software creating that you would never see that page, you would see a real site, what you are seeing there is what google/yahoo would see if it were cloaked

that is created using a doorway page generator, which is a totally old school method of putting up thousands of pages quick and getting keyword results to other "real" sites

here is a pretty cool app for doing it - http://www.doorway-wizard.com/ - but like I said it is a pretty old school method and doesn't work that well anymore, google is pretty quick to knock you down for it, and while the software I linked does do "cloaked" pages, they are not true cloaked pages

what you see in the link you posted is a "doorway page"
