Verizon began rolling out a new Internet service in Southeastern Pennsylvania, called FiOS.
This test market is one of the first places to use a new service that offers Fiber Optic connections directly into the home, capable of incredible bandwidth, and hopefully other areas of the East Coast will be next. FiOS service plans range up to 30 Mbps download with 10 Mbps upload. It will be interesting to see if this will be Verizon’s answer to the cable companies whom currently have Broadband Internet services that are capable of faster speeds, support greater distances from the central office, and run on newer wires which are capable of improving the speeds and services they offer over those lines. 30 Mbps download/10 Mpbs download? Wow. Pretty darn obvious that this will amount to delivering more (streaming) media down to customers … excuse me, Mr. Flash Video Codec?? … We’ll need you for a bit … In addition does anyone think these faster connections will change the adult biz? Whats everyones thoughts?

Maybe it will allow for online HD format viewing... that would be good!

It will have as big an impact as broadband. Universal broadband made video sites possible and that had a huge impact on the biz. This will deliver higher quality and hopefully eliminate the need for mailorder. That opens up huge markets to countries where guys are afraid their customs will interecept and also make them availble to guys who are afraid their wives will intercept packages. Should hurt the anonymous mailbox business...lol.
