Dozens killed in Egyptian blasts
Sharm el-Sheikh is popular with Western and Middle Eastern tourists At least 43 people have been killed and more than 130 wounded in a string of explosions in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, police said. The first explosion took place in the Old Market area, popular with tourists. Other blasts followed in the nearby area of Naama Bay, which is packed with hotels. Witnesses said a four-star hotel was heavily damaged. Police sources said initial reports suggested there had been at least four and possibly seven car bombs. The first blast, which took place shortly after 0100 local time (2200 GMT), shook windows some distance away, and smoke was seen rising over the area, residents said. 'Eerie calm' The Naama Bay explosions followed about 15 minutes later, close to the Ghazala Gardens and Moevenpick hotels. One witness, Fabio Besone, who was at the nearby Hard Rock Cafe, said there were scenes of panic, with people running to get away. "There was shrapnel everywhere, the front of the hotel had been completely blown away, a couple of bodies lying down on the front of the road - I have no idea if they were alive or severely injured," he told the BBC. Samantha Hardcastle, a British tourist, was having a drink on the terrace of the Naama Bay Hotel with her husband when they heard a loud explosion, followed by a second one a few minutes later. "There's just an eerie sense of calm at the moment," she said. "Just horrific, I've never been so scared in the whole of my life." The Sharm el-Sheikh area is popular with tourists from Israel, Jordan, Egypt and Europe. Naama Bay is packed with hotels. Last October, 34 people died in car and truck bombs at Red Sea resorts on the eastern coast of the Sinai Peninsula. |

Until the day the French give up having a pussy government and fights.
I say this because on that day, everyone else will be fighting the war on terrorist world wide and the French will be the last to join.

The french are in the battle against terrorists - actual they are one of the most active "players" - the same with Germany. Their opposition was only about the Iraq war, not about dealing with terror. Ex. both of them have trops in Afghanistan.
France and Germany are very likely targets due to their international involvement, and because they got VERY large islamists communities inside their own borders. Ex. 3 of the hijackers from 9/11 were students in Germany... What is needed is a change in attitude, when dealing with terrorism: 1. We need to put terror into the right perspective, and not making it sound like the end of the world. Its just another thing that can kill us - just like driving our car, crossing the street, or getting food stuck in our throat. 2. Much more media focus on the victims instead of the terrorists. There is no crime without victims, and its a strong message that needs to be sent to the supporters of terrorism. Ex. since the terrorists in Iraq have started targeting civilians, then their "approval ratings" have dropped in muslim countries. 3. Give the people in the middle east/asia more control (ex. thru democracy), so in time they will stop playing the roles of "victims". The islamists have been getting alot of goodwill from the people, because they confirm that the people are "victims" - its like 2 drunks telling each other sad stories to get sympathy. We need to sober one of them, so we can stop the endless cycle. 4. A "shoot to kill" policy, a "we retaliate" policy, and a "who gives a fuck about their reason" policy. These 3 policies would make the "wimpy" character in the west change - fuck, its only within the last 50 years that we have changed into "soft little scared humans" - its time we admit that its not the way to survive on earth, and return to our real human natur...
