so wheres the cool kids table?

I have come to realize that for as long as I have been in this industry I have made precious few 'friends' I can count on one hand the number of people that I have what I consider to be real friendships with that are in this biz.
I know I am not particularly active on boards (although i have been improving over the last year or so)
so since there is a lot of people around here who have a lot of exsperience, help this networking newbie out. Gimme a networking 101 class for dumbies. I am sure there are others out there that could use the same guidance.
Unlike rhetorical, I think we all need friends, esp in business.

A little info about myself.
I am a spaz (keep that in mind. I get goofy over certain things and your sure to see it...... gawd forgive me the Anders Manga thread!

I have been in the biz since 97 (no bullshit i really have)
I own the oldest and possibly now the least profitable gay all video site on the net
I have worked as a video editor for a major sponsor program that I left under amicable terms (i couldnt afford florida and a good credit rating)
I currently work for another sponsor program as their incredibly likeable, dedicated, charming and modest affiliate manager
and I am always eager to learn
so please, gurus, spread the wisdom around a little

dont argue with trolls, ( only piss up) *this is very hard to resist. kinda like chocolate on a diet!
