To have a url on / within a video clip or film that can be clicked, like an overlay with defined areas?

Not only can it be done in WMV if clicked. You can even force the browser to go there automagically.
Don't ask me how though. But I saw Dokk encode this a few years back. It can be done. |

using dhtml over an embedded stream you can do it,
bit it's real fiddly and there are compatability problems. |

Thanks guys .. Flash is an option which is being investigated and have tried the dhtml route. There were serious compatibility issues .. I was looking for something that works as an 'envelope' that would sit above any and all video types if possible.

Windows Media 8 and I think it was Real, you could easily embed url markers into the encoding that would automagically pop open the users browser to the specified url.
It wasn't able to be done to a mpeg1 file. .

Cleaner 5 does this as well as Canopus Procoder.
Made a lot of money off of Bangbus by blurring the page in the background while the video was running.

I am not talking about cross fading / blurring a web page / placing a url as a video overlay frame that is just text within a video segment in the forefront so that when you encode the video it becomes the finished article, but the ability to overlay some code and/or dimensions of my choosing over the top of the finished video to my dimensions. I have used cleaner/canopus procoder/premier/vegas/pinnacle/tmpgenc and a whole lot more for the editing and thats not an issue. It is more the generic coded overlay that I am interested in for divx/xvid/mov/mpeg1/wmv/rm/mpeg2 and more.
