Well my friend works for mainstream TV not porn where anyone with a camera can shoot. And he only added an hd cam 2 yrs ago, he had no call for it. He still uses the sd cam a now and then.

I did have an hd camera before the release of the first prosumer because I was in the tv business and well connected....2003. But I was playing with various broadcast cameras before then. I owned Sony Betacams and Ikegamis for years before I got into using home video cameras for porn. Before I had the FX1, I also had a pd150 which would at least shoot wide screen. Maybe I got my year wrong, but all of my videos since then (thousands) are all hd.
Your friend only got an hd cam a couple of years ago because he had no call for it? Well, his clients are all sucking wind now with their old fashioned looking footage. 4 x 3 looks like black and white when colour took over. The HD component of this discussion was settled years ago and still people argue over it. Sigh.
