I figured it out with a program called IsoBuster. Apparently not only did it have weird codes on it..it also had several tracks of gibberish which is some kind of stuff they put on Indian cds and dvds to comply with copyright law. Since this was custom content and we purchased it I have no idea why they put all that stuff on the disc.
