It doesn't matter what he thinks or agrees with. It is the reality. So the records show up. Do you honestly think that will solve his problem? Dude, you are a lawyer and used to an arguably functional legal system. At least a "predictable" legal system. Let me give you little example of how it can work in Brazil.
I get pulled over on a big four lane divided highway and taken to the Atco trailer at the sided of the road where there are four cops with lots of scrambled egg on their epaulets. They tell me my Canadian drivers license is not valid in Brazil. I know it is. I even have documents to prove this. They roll their eyes and tell me the fine is two hundred bucks. I discuss our situation with them, tell a few jokes, and the fine is reduced because they like me to a hundred bucks. That is a huge amount of money. Had I chosen to push the issue, cocaine or marijuana would have been discovered in my pockets and that would probably have cost me a thousand bucks. That, btw, is the going rate.
