No, Greg was not just asleep by the pool or he would have awakened when the beer can stacking happened and the camera flashes went off. He was passed out drunk. A 40+ year old man that does that on multiple occassions has a problem. Make all the excuses for him you want, but it's not acceptible behavior even in this business.
