Yes it was a compliment, brainy and attractive. Without straying into "in my day it was 5 miles uphill both ways in the snow to see Skinny Puppy" stories, I'll just say my goth/mohawk-boy days ended sometime back in the mid 80s, hence the "perhaps in a future lifetime" comment with the wink thrown in for a lame flirtation effect.
