Your idea of "something new and innovative" is definately different than mine.
Finding a new way to trick surfers into entering their credit card numbers to look at digital versions of Playboy and huslter on a pc monitor instead of on a sheet of paper isn't my idea of "New and innovative."
Or, how about a new way to watch a VHS tape, Circa 1983, but this time on a-, yes, you got it, a PC Monitor instead of your TV.
Frankly, I don't see any of the myriad methods of presenting the material to be any more "innovative" than that. The last 10 years have been a bit lackluster. In 1995 the industry was selling pictures of chics doing the nasty. 2007? Still selling pictures of chics doing the nasty.
Pictures get there a little bit faster, and the pages look a bit more snappy, but essentially the same product. That's why it >feels< tired and old. same 'ole cracker.
I mean really, think about it.....
Live Broadcast TV technology-i.e. video streaming
Phone sex- i.e. -streaming audio
Playboy/Hustler magazine (a really big stack)- i.e. scanned versions of pictures on a website
VCR Video tape-i.e. Video streaming, download and play, etc. with a better filing system.
I mean, when you really think about it......what innovative technology has an adult website, even the really well done ones, really brought to the world other than a better filing system for the same porn content we've had for years?
If I made a 1983 video tape into a digital file, and played it back, could you really tell the difference between it, and a current one from say hot movies?
Sure you can chop it up and index it, but like I said, really good filing system.
That's what computers do good. Organize large chucks of data and make them accessible.
Not to discount all the great content out there, and all the money that's been made. 'cause it's clear, money can be made.
But innovative? Not so much.
Reach out from the video, and grab the viewer by the balls? Now THAT is something new.
Reach out and poke the closet gay guy in the ass as it's happening on the screen? That's something you can't do today.
Feel the chic at the other end of the video picture suck the chrome off your bumper hitch?
Yep, you guessed it. New.
Take a core technology, and expand it into many other fields. That's our plan.
We'll get there.....slow and steady, or fast and furious.
We've got a solid core. Now, expanding into all the other fields is just a matter of time and parallel development.
