Many things that sound good in principle will not work very well in reality because you'll never succeed in getting the rest of the world to play by the same rules. This will typically find you at a severe economic disadvantage and ultimately a military and political disadvantage in the face of an aggressor.
The same thing can often be said of business and even interpersonal relationships.
