My great-grandmother came over on the boat from Ireland, hence my "ethnicity" is Irish. My husbands grandparents came over from Czechoslovakia. His small town area in Pennsylvania is still divided into "Slovak" neighborhoods, Italian neighborhoods, etc. They don't have concertina wire between them anymore.  |
