I'm not arguing that rioting is "acceptable", although I wonder how nice you would stay if non-violent means got you nothing after years and years and years.
Sometime the threat of violence is the most effective tool that advocates of non-violence have.
You think King would have been as effective without folks like Malcolm X and other black radicals in the background?
