Dravyk...that was one of my favorite moments in the long years I've been in this business!! I don't remember what I said either, but wow...were you PISSED!! You offered to sock me in the nose.
Now, despite what the glossy magazines tell you about men, ladies, when a gentleman discovers he just cheerfully offered to strike a woman, even "virtually"...it makes him nearly swallow his tongue in horror. Dravyk, to his great credit and honor (hush, Nick, if you would be so kind) searched for my email and sent me an immediate apology. Up until that moment, I'd never seen an email actually vibrate with horror. I thought the whole thing was funny and managed to convince him of that.
Heather chose my nick because it sounded elegant. "Heather's Honeys" was a pretty classy site. When my career evolved into writing, I wrote both gay and straight stories, so having a name that can be either came in handy. When I started as a webmaster, it never occured to me that so many people would think I was a man. Some assumed, like Dravyk, it was just a statistical probablity. Others, and this truly offended me, assumed I was a man merely because I was intelligent, opinionated and not afraid to post on boards.
