I wasn't able to really tell much of a time frame on the article to know when they nabbed him. I sent money via paypal on August 31st. On September 5th, the money came back into my account, with a note saying they had decided to fund the operation in a different manner.
I hadn't sent much to them, because it wasn't a recognized charity. At the same time, I was feeling (like lots of people) so much frustration and disbelief that this was not being handled properly that I did send some to help.
The irony in it is that I wouldn't send money to the Red Cross, because my thoughts about their money management. Guess that makes me a dumbass.
