You can trade your books online at www.bookins.com. You get points for each one you send out, and then use those points to get books from other people. They start you out with 10 or so points.

I usually keep 'em. Have 5 7-foot tall bookcases in my library, and just bought two more 4-foot ones last Sunday. Going to get another one this weekend.
