Not to piss on your parade or anything, but i dont think this is an unusual sentiment. When i am in Europe, i do everything i can to hide the fact that i am American. Americans act generally tend to act like obnoxious fucking retards everywhere they go. But you know what? The average Brit is just as bad in my opinion. Loud, rude, drunk and obnoxious. Anywhere in Europe, when you hear someone being an idiot or hear someones voice standing out in the crowd, he is either American or British.
Every country has good and bad, ups and downs, pluses and minuses. No country is different in this respect. The primary differences that people like to espouse between countries are usually just the perceptions... not the realities.
