I don't give for things that I would consider "Welfare". IMO I don't think our taxes should go to fund every bit of medical research so I donate to a couple of medical resources (breast cancer, athritis). I don't think the government should take care of everyone else's kids, so I donate to foster programs and Boys Town. I donate to Compassionate Friends, and most importantly, the local pug rescue group
