My erotica sites were free sites. I also had a link site. One of my more humiliating moments in life was a phone call from one of my daughters. She was talking porn with her friends...one of whom suddenly erupted "your MOTHER is MORGAN GRAYSON! I *love* her! I have her site bookmarked!!" Daughter thought it was funny as hell.
