If it makes you feel more comfortable to lurk for a while, do it.
If it makes you feel more comfortable to just drop into the Oprano Lounge and say "hello" for a while to get the feel of posting on the board before you ask questions, do that.

Two. Novice webmasters: there is no such thing as a "stupid question." Every single person on the adult 'net was once a beginner. Please do not hesitate to ask your questions, ask for help...and do not be afraid while you do it. No one will insult you or laugh at you.
Three. If you can find someone who says "I wasn't nervous the first time I posted on a message board" you are entitled to raise an eyebrow and make a rude noise.
Four. Be aware that *all* webmasters have questions about things they don't know, whether they've been doing this for 8 days or 8 years.
