I can remember a couple of trips with my Grandfather on what he still called "Decoration Day", when we would go to HIS grandfather's grave - with a "Grand Army of the Republic" headstone.
I made a point of taking my kids to St. Louis's Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Memorial Day a couple of times.
