Thanks going to read that article...

I guess my question is... If I am going Pentium, don't do alot of gaming... Will have 1g of DDRAM Running in the dual channel slots (two 512's) ... What type of Pentium processor should I buy...

I want it to have the front side bus of 800 at least... with of course L@ cahce of 1 meg if possible... But I don't thnk I should need a top of the line one as I don't use alot of the programs the more advanced chips were made for.
Which one to buy?
As my sysadmin says... "The one with the most blinking lights" And you know what? he is right :P
Hyperthreading is ok. no more than that. We have AMDs as well and they are sometimes better than pentiums.
If you are fixated on Pentiums, P4 xeon 2.8 is a very good processor. 1GB memory is a good size for most of what you will probably do (I am only assuming you are doing "average demanding" stuff).
More important than anything else, more important than speed of disk, size of memory and certainly CPU speed, is... keep your system healthy and clean. Avoid installing what you don't need and CERTAINLY avoid installing what you don't know. Have a firewall and an anti virus, run a spyware deletion too once in a while. Don't install little "nifty" applications you don't need, and always uninstall things you don't work with already. Avoid huge hires wallpaper on your desktop. Disable the windows mouse shadow, and other "cool" stuff noone really notices after 10 seconds..
This advice will make your PC twice as fast. Certainly faster than any investment you will make on hardware.
