that was one thing i couldn't get used to about winters over there, the dryness of the air - and it hurts your ears and fingers!!!!

31% humidity is VERY, VERY low for us. We are as bad as FL during the spring/summer/fall.
When I spent a week in CA last summer and walked out of the ATL airport coming home, the actual weight of the air was so measurable being out of it for so long. I also have to replace several items every year in the house because I refuse to shut my windows and turn the AC on to keep it dry
