Didnt the company owners sell off a bunch of private shares just recently also?
Im sure Google have a few aquisitions planned, i forget the name of the most recent one but it was a 'webcam' site that lets you connect to webcams anywhere in the world i beleive.
That at least tells us they are looking at developing their technology into a wider reach of markets other than just search engines.
