If this was an accident or the marine felt in danger, etc then he will be ok I suppose.
If the marine didn't follow the rules of engagement dealing with wounded - unarmed enemy combatants, then he will be delt with according to the ucmj..
It's not so much the media wants to hang him out to dry, it a "new - potential big story" for them
