FDA's building is no where close to the Supreme Court!
Bush has to throw bones to those groups who supported him. This will including appointing people to non-critical posts who represent large special interests groups. Some of them will be kooky. It happens with EVERY President.
Hopefully Bush will keep the kooks in places where they cannot exercise much real power....
When there are thousands of appointments to make things like this are going to happen.
