While religion gives monotone hope, then consumption comes in never ending variety... where the IKEA catalogue have problems replacing the Bible, then other shapes of consumption are taking over - ex. porn is already available as in-room movies in around 40 percent of all hotel rooms in the United States... so instead of opening the dresser drawer, then people are finding the remote on top of the dresser drawer
Religion is loosing ground, the only place it can find dominans is in its fundamentalistic shape, which "unfortunal" for some religions also includes confrontation with the rest of the world.
