i don't think it's in the democrats/leftists/anti-bushist's best interests for there to be any mayhem or violence.
the major story yesterday was 400,000+ americans against bush, not discussion about the republican platform. this has to piss off the GOP.
if i was a republican strategist i'd have been spending the last year or so setting up naive anti-bush protestors to go around spreading mayhem to try to discredit the protesters and their message.
let's see how things develop over the next few days.
