this is what makes men and women similar......
when someone says they have finals and are quite drunk hence wanting to go home, for both sexes it is a polite way of saying i do not want to stay over, i am not interested and i prefer to be polite and not hurt your feelings.
the quite drunk was a dead give away because anyone would want to at least sleep it off and knowing chinese/japanese students, most would not go out and get drunk the night before an exam. they are too goal oriented and take their studies too seriously (which is probably why they are more successful then we americans).
dont get your hopes/ego up there kiddo.
