IE has always been forgiving.. as far as I know Opera has been just as forgiving in most versions.. why the fuck does netcape/mozilla have to continue to insist everyone codes html badly..... rather than seeing that their browser is too stupid to work properly on the "real world" of the internet.
There is a standard of html coding set by the WC3. I dont think there is a problem with browsers like MSIE being more 'forgiving', but I do think its a cop out to blame MS when html dosen't work on other browsers. That really has to do with inexperienced html coders. Html really isn't that hard, and more importantly, if you DO code it correctly, according to the WC3 standard, you won't have any problems on ANY browsers.

For anyone interested, I personally use www.browsercam.com to check any site I design on multiple browsers and configurations. It's invaluable, you would be suprised how different your site can look even on different operating systems.

You can say that over 90% of your traffic comes from MSIE so fuck the rest, but when you consider how easy it is to code decent HTML from scratch to accomidate for the other 10% of browsers, isn't that worth it?
