reread "The Dirt" - the Autobiography of Motley Crue
a truly vile, evil book. A tale of spoiled brats, their decadence and maybe just maybe growing up, or at least facing the truths
I had to finish it quickly and get out if it's groove so to speak
Some of the stuff Vince Neil when through with his 4 year young daughter dying of cancer I don't know if I could handle and don't think anyone every should have to face
What an amazing book...I loved it
I agree on Vince losing Skylar, it brought a tear to my eye. I see some of what he's going through today and have to wonder if I'd head down that path if something that traumatic happened to me...
A book every rock star in training needs to read. When my son is of appropriate age, I'll have to give it to him to read (that and The Real Frank Zappa Book)

Kath, my kids were rocking in the womb too.

I feel much better about my kids going to a high energy show like WASP or Morbid Angel moreso than this cocktease rock we're getting from the likes of Britney Spears. With the kids at concerts, I don't want to turn my son into a mini-me (well, ok, a little, all fathers do that I'm sure ;-)) and I never force him to go. He wants to go and we'll listen to a couple of the artists' CD's and determine if he likes the music enough to go. I'm also cautious to ensure he's wearing earplugs so he doesn't damage his ears (he's also noticed he can still her me talking generally when he wears them and can still hear the music).

When I first bought him his guitar, I had to be careful that I didn't push him into it or get it more so I could live vicariously through him. I've left him alone with his guitar and a couple instructional DVD's and just let him have fun with it and he's been teaching his sister and little brother guitar and by 10, he'll be a better guitar player than I am. I'm about 50% through turning the third bay in my garage into a studio for them to play and have fun. I've picked up odds and ends equipment wise at garage sales and let the kids just play and have fun discovering music. (I don't feel like being Joe Jackson ;-))
