For D$ to pull the Players Ball - something major must have happened. That is an emotional thing to do, if it truly was making the $$ people thought. OR maybe it was not making money, getting tougher to get people to cough up cash to put it on? IT went down hill a few years ago.
Wonder what the real story is??

Money has to be part of it. Even the big boys aren't throwing around money like they used to. And D$ set an expectation for those things in terms of venues and performers that wasn't cheap and not easily scaled back.
I've always thought he may have fallen into the trap of catering to the beer money crowd. Most of them have no business plans, they spend whatever they make on things to impress their friends. Vegas is just a big party for them, any business done is coincidental...and they're all about flash over substance.
I wish sponsors would start to realize that the people who are serious are more than willing to pay for their own meals and drinks, and they do not go to the shows to be able to tell their friends back home they were rubbing elbows with pornstars and rappers.
Music, a bar, food, strippers, etc, are all nice, but secondary. And it's important that if there is music that it's not on the ENTIRE time or that there are quiet areas to retreat to in order to have conversations. Shows and parties should primarily be about getting some face time with people you're either doing business with or might have an occasion to do business with in the future.
