I think oil should be use as a political weapon - tell the middle east that we are determine to use all the time, money and resources we have into oil replacement in the western world, because we find it to risky to be depended on their part of world, which lacks true freedom and democracy. Now either they change their ways, or in 10-20 years time we will no longer be interested in the middle east, and their countries will soon look like parts of africa.
