I'm from a small hick town with 1 church for every 100 residents in the county... I've seen that VERY same message more than once as a kid...
When several seniors and young graduates ran off and got married one summer, I was about 12-13 years old I think... One message was,

Don't elope... Do it in church with God as your witness!"
Damn near fell off my bike... lol... gots to love the bible belt...
