Probably for the same reason that nobody expects George Bush to pick up a gun and fight and die for "freedom" even though he forces others to do so.
George must not really believe in his cause then, right? He must not really believe that his personal lord and savior will protect him with all the protection he surrounds himself with. Its a real testament to his faith.
