Jimmy Carter was in the Navy....

I would imagine Tillman and I saw the world more similiar then you and Tillman would have.
Think about it.

What difference does it make what I did in the military, Mike? All you need to know is that I was a typewriter pilot who was involved in communications, intelligence, and administration in both the aviation anti-submarine warfare and amphibious assult communities. Between those two assignments I recruited officers for JAG, Medical Corps, Naval Aviation and Nuclear Power. Got shot at twice by Serge's cousins, once by the Lybians, and had a bomb go off in the lobby ten minutes after we left a hotel bar Lisbon. Never killed anybody - but kept a few folks from getting killed. Told a few pilots where to go and what to do and what to look for when they got there. Helped find a couple of Serge's cousins out on or under the ocean, or near it. Helped train the some of the guys that invaded Grenada and got blown up in Beruit. At least one guy that reenlisted when he worked for me is "over there" now.
Carter was in the Navy - and from what I understand, was an outstanding officer in one of the toughest fields within the military. Is that supposed to mean something? Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, and the first Bush were also in the Navy.
Tillman would have agreed more with you than with me. So what? He could have had a world view that made John Birch look like a Marxist and I'd still have had respect for him. It takes a very special man to answer a call the way he did.
