I remember nicknames too ... as well as a general impression of what has been represented behind that nickname.
Recognition of the nickname might make it more likely that I would READ an email; remembering how that nickname has presented itself would be the deciding factor in whether I responded, or what that response might be.
When it comes to doing business, I don't give a rat's ass in hell what your politics are. After all, some of my best friends (and close family members) are conservative Republicans.
I do, however, tend to stay away from people who use terms like "pimp" or "bling-bling" in a business context, people who overuse the contrived piss as a marketing tool, and people who demonstrate either an overabundance of regard for themself or seem to lack the basic maturity one would expect of a businessperson.
