They feel about alcohol the way most people feel about drugs. Nobody would be complaining if a bunch of users and dealers were treated like this. It's a completely different culture.
I think it's strange that people actually go to Bahrain just to drink, though. Place is a fucking shithole. My dad and his workmates had no problem getting their hands on booze when we were in Abu Dhabi.
