Absolutely, we have more rights than we did 30 years ago, but less than we had 5 years ago.

And we are rebuilding the Mc Carthy era right now, only replace Communist with Terrorist.

Indefinate detention of suspects without charging them with a crime or allowing them access to a lawyer....

Unrestricted use of wire taps without a warrent...

The ability to take all assets of a "suspect" proven guilty of nothing

The FCC making arbitrary determination of what is "offensive" with no actual rules for broadcasting (a group appointed by and answerable only to the Furer, er, ah, president) Maybe the FCC should be renamed the ministry of Propaganda

Today you can't say Fuck, Tomorrow ass, what comes the day after ?

This bill is about much more than Janets Nipple, or Stern talking about anything. It gives the President the power to silence anyone speaking against him or her.

I am not looking at conspiracy theory, I am looking the long term effect of the recently passed laws.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Faith based initicitives and the current bill shatters that one.

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed

The current ban on automatic weapons shits on that one.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

RICO and Patriot Act make that one meaningless.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Patriot Act again

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

Patriot Act again

September 11th created a new "EVIL" and we are happily giving away our liberties so the Government can keep us safe.

Stevie Wonder could see we are moving in the wrong direction for freedom

Insert Gay everywhere you posted black - It is legal in much of the country to fire someone from their job because they are Gay, name one Baseball, football, basketball, or Hockey player that is openly gay.

We also have not come even close to erradicating racism as many of your examples point to
