I'll say it before and I'll say it again. The history of the 20th century social machine was one of increasing licentiousness and civil freedoms. You'd have to be blind not to see that. WE have WAY more rights than we had 30 years ago, 60 years ago or 100 years ago. In the US, half the population couldn't even vote a century ago. Overall, society is much more licentious than it was just two decades ago. Look at the popular TV programming of not too long ago ("Leave it to Beaver", "Brady Bunch", "Happy Days"). Look at what used to be a PG movie compared to today.
Explain to me how we have less rights today compared to an era where alcohol was illegal in the US.
Explain to me how we have less rights today compared to the McCarthy era.
Explain to me how we have less rights today compared to an era when a couple could not be shown laying in bed together.
Explain to me how we have less rights today compared to an era when a person couldn't play in professional sports because of the color of their skin.
Explain to me how we have less rights today compared to an era where women couldn't vote.
Explain to me how we have less rights today compared to an era where a person had to sit in the back of the bus if they were black.
Explain to me how we have less rights today compared to an era when a shop owner could hang a sign on their door telling people of various ethnic groups to stay out.
