I guess Im just a big softie, but assuming the man was actually insane (we know he was not sane, but eh), he spent 22 years in a mental institute (no walk in the park contrary to what some of you are suggesting, potentially worse than prison life) and he still is only getting 6 days of very relative freedom.
Is it really that bad?
