Oh, I'm not afraid to admit it when I'm wrong ... I was wrong when I believed two successive Administrations, one from each party, about the Iraqi WMD programs, for example.

You may remember that I even argued with Dig and Alex about the war before the shit hit the fan. Having been in uniform, and having family in uniform, I'm not in as much of a hurry to see dead heros returning home as you seem to be; thus, my support of the war was a little less than enthusiastic.

I think there are an equal number of people in either party who are willing to put the interests of their party or ideology ahead of the country. Legal investigations of four of the past seven presidential administrations have been conducted over things like that. One of them revolved around allegations of transgressions related to personal gain (or covering up same). The other three involved (IMHO, more) serious issues related to the rule of law; and to the best of my knowledge, those weren't Democrats.

If you really believe that opposition to the war equals support for Saddam, then we aren't even speaking the same language. IF - and in spite of the rants of the likes of Cheneyburton, it's a very big if - Saddam's capture leads to information about a real WMD program, I'll admit to being wrong - about mistakenly thinking I was fooled again.
