There will be no trial outside Iraq, they need him in Iraq so they can do the character killing infront of the Iraqi people.

Saddam like all other politicians/dictators will defend himself by saying that he did what was necessary, and that those who hold him prisoner are nothing more but bandits. If they let him speak to the court/Iraqi people, then he will never say he was wrong and he regret what he has done, he will instead try and do a character killing on those who hold him prisoner.

And the ironic thing will be that the more evidence there will be in a court against Saddam... the more will some arabs (and maybe french too) think that its another plot from the USA.
