You thought he was quoting Marcus Aurelius Antonius, and tried to belittle him with what you thought was his inability to comprehend such; when in fact he was simply quoting a line from the movie Pulp Fiction.

And had you read more than the first 10 words or so of what he said, you would've realized it wasn't Marcus at all but something completely different. Marcus didn't run around saying "motherfucker" and "pop a cap in his ass".
