Both were excellent parents but didn't try and teach the kids about gayness when they were little, so they could go to school and mouth off about it to their friends and be made fun of.

Hmm, so basically what you are saying is to teach the attitude that being gay is wrong (by NOT addressing it as a reality)......and condone children who make fun of people/kids who stick their necks out there......okay.....I get where you are coming from now............
