For the past year or so, approximately 30% of my emails aren't getting in or out. This happens with my Conepuppy, Mindspring and ETC (my DSL) emails. My STMP is all ETC but obviously my incoming mail server depends on who I'm getting mail from.

Outgoing mail just disappears into nothingness.

Incoming mail is being bounced to the sender.

What is involved with getting my OWN email server and bypassing ETC? I have someone who can set up the hardware side of it, but what's involved with getting the connection? Does it have to be a hardwire? Will whomever I get service from still have go through the ETC lines?

Any and all help will be GREATLY appreciated.
