My coonass family is sharply divided on the okra in the gumbo issue.
Father's side does not use okra but mothers side does.
Thus I only eat my fathers family's gumbo.
Okra sometimes makes the gumbo "snot-like" lol and I wont touch it.
I actually had a nice shrimp gumbo last night mmmmmmm
