I am being sent the fish market to buy something called soft shelled crabs.. an American friend is visiting and wants to make Louisianna Gumbo.. I've never heard of them before, apparently they are new to the Australian market.
Is this what you guys use for gumbo in New Orleons?
Anyway I don't think I've ever had a gumbo.. can anyone give me a clue what else I should pick up that goes well with it? And is there a "traditional" drink you serve with gumbo at all?
